My principles.

These are my collection of principles that I try to optimise for. They're incomplete, occasionally wrong, and updated whenever experience proves them wrong. They're incomplete, sometimes contradictory, and change when I find better ideas.

Time and work

  • Money should be used to buy time, not things.

  • You should have a wide funnel, and a tight filter. Let anything in to check it out, but throw it out quickly if it’s not worth your while.

  • You shouldn't be proud of what you consume, only of what you build.

  • Despite how it may appear, no one has everything figured out. We're all playing this game for the first time.

  • Find enjoyment in everything you do.

Family

  • Raise children to be curious, generous, resilient, and active.

  • Be someone your children choose to spend time with

  • You can't take anything with you, but you can choose what you leave behind.

Health

  • Avoid sugar before lunch

  • Work to be fit enough to never have to say no

  • Drink only water in the first waking hour
